Route 66 - Detour - Illinois - Chicago

Chicago is a city on Lake Michigan in Illinois. With a population of about 2.8 million, it is the third largest city in the United States.

Chicago since the mid-19th century a very important commercial city in the United States. By the railway junction and the location at the mouth of the Illinois Waterway, this city is so cheap.

Route 66 starts in Chicago and thus the city has a small or large sightseeing tour is worth it, of course.

  • Millennium Park – a beautiful park between the skyscrapers with the attraction “The Cloud Gate aka the ‘Bean’”

  • John Hancock Observatory – The view from the tower is fantastic
  • Willis Tower (Sears Tower) – An observation deck with glass balconies
  • Buckingham Fountain – a beautiful large fountain
  • Lincoln Park – a city park with zoo
  • Magnificent Mile – the expensive shopping street in Chicago
  • Hard Rock Cafe – a great guitar in front of the building worth seeing.
