Holbrook – Wigwam Motel
The Wigwam Motel is certainly one of the many famous landmarks of Route 66. The special feature is that all the motel rooms are housed in small huts, which look like a wigwam (tepee) . In 1974 the hotel for a good 14 years was closed. 1988, but then took his business on Route 66 again.

Holbrook – Moen Kopi Motel
The hotel was closed in 2010, it looked as if we were there,like they are renovating the place. Whether it is open again today, I do not know. It is located in Holbrook, AZ.

Holbrook- Roseway Inn
The old hotel is right across the Wigwam Motel. It has seen better times, but it is still in operation and offer a cheap accommodation.

Williams – Grand Canyon Hotel
The Grand Canyon Hotel opened its doors in January 1891 and is the oldest hotel in Arizona. Williams was a cattle and mining town at that time. In 1901, the Santa Fe Railway was opened, was born in Williams’ name as “The Gate to the Grand Canyon.” The Grand Canyon Hotel was the only hotel near the Grand Canyon. It is open until today.

Ash Forks – Hi-Line Motel
The small motel in 1936 stands out because of an advertising sign in the “Googie-style”. When I was there, the hotel was closed.

Seligman – Stage Coach Motel
The hotel on the outskirts of Seligman offers the traveler some themed rooms, there is a Harley room John Wayne room Marilyn Monroe room and a room in the Norwegian Style. The owners are Norwegians.

The small motel in the middle of Seligman offers a few rooms in the hotel there is a gift shop.

Seligman – Supai Motor Inn
The motel does not exist a long time, but it has adapted the Route 66 in Seligman, the birthplace of the “Historic Route 66”. It offers the traveler clean and affordable accommodations. In the evening a beautiful neon sign is on.

Motel is AAA rated It is single story, exterior corridor, with 16 non-smoking rooms. You find it at the end of town, torwards Lilo’s CafĂ©.

One of the owners is a german native. The motel offers clean, comfortable, well maintained theme rooms. One of the best accommodation in Seligman.

Truxton/Peach Springs- Frontier Motel
The Frontier Motel and Cafe is one of the few remaining businesses on Route 66 that is in it’s original condition. Opened in 1952 by Alice Wright of California. The Frontier Motel and Cafe was bought by Allen an Stacy in April 2014. It will be remodeled soon.

Truxton – Orlando Motel
The Orlando Motel belonged to the family of Peach Springs. The building is long expired. In front of the house stands an old ice cream truck.

Oatman – Durlin Hotel
Located in the beautiful and historic Oatman and was named after its builder John Durlin. The Durlin Hotel is the only historic two-story brick building in Mohave County. In 1939. Clark Gable and Carole Lombard stayed after their wedding in Kingman on their wedding night at the Historic Durlin Hotel.
